Hey there. Thanks for stopping by my site.
My name is Steve Naisbitt. I’m a bitter and, according to some, twisted forty-something poor amateur wordsmith. I’ve, to date, written one novel – book one of my ‘The Black Metropolis’ series ‘Among the Dead. I am currently working on it’s sequel ‘Envy the Dead.’ Hopefully I’ll live long enough to get to book three…
I’ve been writing since I could hold a crayon. From an early age I was fascinated by people. Their faces, their innate cares and sorrows – all etched into the lines upon their kaleidoscope of what are always ‘ancient’ faces to a child. I used to always wonder what the stories behind the personas were.
By the time I endured high school I was obsessed with ‘the story’, the mechanics of the telling of it. The genesis of every story – a dream, a nightmare, a joy or pain. Everyone has at least one drama in (or about) them. My favorite English teacher once told me I had ‘poetry in my soul’ and the compliment stuck, despite my deep seated psychological fractures and lack of self belief. Still, lacking for self expression is something I’ve never been accused of, and so I’m going to vomit a selection of what drives my bag of meat up in here. For anyone who’d care for a hopefully entertaining (if not insightful) diversion, I hope to fill a space perhaps you didn’t know you had. I may, as it turns out have no business being here. I may have no talent, but that’s not for me to say.
I’ve been working on my first novel ‘Among The Dead’ for what seems like forever (and actually nearly is). Now that the second and final draft is done I’ll be looking for representation for my fictitious ramblings, while I get to work on more.
Darkgingerbread seemed like a good production company name, so I’ve stuck with it. Hopefully you’ll find the taste of my musings interesting. Praise, scorn, rants and death threats in the comments sections, please.
